Funeral services for 75-year old William Rex Layfield, 307 A Street, who passed away in the local hospital yesterday morning, will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Erickson and Brown Chapel. Layfield, a native-born West Virginian, was born July 31, 1887, and is a retired Standard Oil employee. He has been a resident here for the past 41 years and has lived in the state for the past 61 years. He is survived by a son, William Rex Layfield, Jr. of Concord, California; three daughters, Pauline Hayes of Taft, Margaret Cameron of New Cuyama and Barbara Specht of Taft; one brother, Frank Layfield of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mamie Brown of Pittsburgh, Rena Stump of Charleston, West Virginia and Arlene Posey of Erbacon, West Virginia; and six grandchildren. Rev. Methodist Church will officiate at the rites, followed by burial in the West Side Cemetery.
