Robert (Pat) Louis Foster, 18, died this morning following an illness in a naval hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was stationed in the United States Navy. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Foster, Rt. 1, Box 131, Derby Acres. Mr. and Mrs. Foster flew to Memphis July 4, when they learned their son had been stricken with an extreme case of cirrhosis of the liver. He had been hospitalized previously for the condition, but took a turn for the worse last week. ‘Pat” passed away this morning. He was born January 25, 1938, in Los Angeles. Graduating from Fellows Grammar School and Taft Union High School, he attended Taft College before joining the United States Navy. He leaves a half brother, Ronnie Foster, Arroyo Grande, and a half sister, Mildred Smith of Taft besides his parents. His body is being flown to Taft with an escort for funeral services at the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Paul S. Ray will officiate and interment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
