Richard Carl Vaughn died in his home at 306 Van Buren this morning at the age of 87. Vaughn was born in Dallas County, Texas, on March 31, 1875, and had resided in California for the past 51 years and on the West Side for the past 41 years. He was a member of the Taft Odd Fellows No. 426 and was a retired oil worker. Survivors include his widow Ethel L., four sons, E.D. Vaughn of San Pablo, Miller N. and Fred B. of Taft, and Virgil L. of Bakersfield; two daughters Mrs. Lela M. Reagan of New Cuyama, and Mrs. Zella Vuletich of Bakersfield; ten grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Erickson and Brown Chapel. Officers from the Taft Odd Fellow No. 426 will officiate at the rites followed by burial in the West Side Cemetery.
