Mr. Reverby M. Byers, of 100 Taylor Street, Taft, died of a heart attack in his home Saturday, May 17. County Fire department resucitator crews were rushed to his home, but in vain. Mr. Byers was born in Dane, Okla,, on June 13, 1897. He had been a resident of California for over 30 years. He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II. He worked for Standard Oil Company for the past 31 years. He was a special clerk with the company at the time of his death. Mr. Byers is survived by his widow, Ola Elizabeth. Also surviving are one son, Stephen R. Byers of Honolulu, and on daughter, Mrs. Helen Louise Matthew of Palmdale. He also leaves four granchildren and other relatives. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Erickson and Brown Chapel. Rev. Joseph W. Bruner of the First Baptist Church will conduct. Burial will be in the West Side Cemetery.
