Cremains in grave with brother Otto HansenPioneer West Side resident Sofus Hansen died this morning in a Bakersfield hospital at the age of79. Born Nov. 13, 1884, Hansen resided at 504 Monroe St. with his brother Otto, who is his only immediate surviving relative. Hansen first came to Maricopa in 1909 and for many years served as chief plumber for the U.S. transport service between San Francisco and Hawaii, Guam and Japan. Funeral services for Sofus Hansen will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. William O. Erickson will conduct the services. Cremation will follow.
