Mr. Oliver Perry Goode died yesterday morning in a Bakersfield hospital. He was born in Woodland, California, July 18, 1870. He moved to Santa Maria in 1877, to Kern County in 1892, to Maricopa in 1907 where he lived on the Sunset Oil Company lease, and then to Fellows in 1909. He lived in Fellows until recently and was land agent for the CWOD Oil Company for 32 years. He was a member of Temblor Lodge No. 447, F&AM, at Fellows, and had served as past master. He had been a member of the Cemetery Board in Taft and was on the Draft Board. He was active in other civic affairs. Mr. Goode is survived by three sons, Malcolm of Bakersfield, Marvin of Visalia and Loren of Sunnyvale, and one daughter, Margaret Duvall of Bakersfield. Then grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive, and one brother, D.K. Goode of Huntington Beach. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Erickson and Brown Chapel Alex Mutch, past master of the Masonic Temblor Lodge 447, F&AM will officiate.
