Mrs. Martha Clarice Galbraith, better known as Clara Galbraith to her many friends, died suddenly Sunday morning in a local hospital. She suffered a heart attack. Mrs. Galbraith was born October 4, 1904, at Durango, Colorado. She lived at 320 D Street in Taft and had been a resident here for the past 35 years. Mrs. Galbraith was active in community affairs and was a member of the Taft Business and Professional Woman’s Club. She is survived by her husband, Ray Howard Galbraith of the D Street address; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Houle, Taft; two grandchildren; one brother, Jess Stevenson, Bakersfield; and one sister, Odessa Madden, Susanville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Erickson and Brown Chapel. Reverend Quentin Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in West Side District Cemetery.
