John W. Clark, 68, of 803 Fillmore St., died yesterday morning at a local hospital. He was born July 13, 1895. He was a retired oil worker, having worked wit the Texas Oil Company, and he was a native of Springfield, Mo. Mr. Clark had been a West Sider for 42 years. He had been active in the Taft Odd-Fellows Lodge, I.O.O.F.; Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Mr. Clark was a past commander of Fellows Legion Post 63 and past noble grand of I.O.O.F. in Taft. Survivors include his widow, Alice of Taft; one son, Lee of Garden Grove, one daughter, Juanita Rouch of Anaheim; three grandchildren; four sisters, Blanche King of Bakersfield, Mrs. Glen Armstrong of Coalinga, Naomi Starr of Oakland and Eva Sauers of Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be hel at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Erickson and Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Moore of the Missonary Baptist Church and officers of the I.O.O.F. officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted by World War I veterans at West Side District Cemetery.
