John Earl Fitzpatrick 84 passed away yesterday at a hospital in Bakersfield. He was born in Eskridge, Kansas, Dec. 16, 1882. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a long time Taft resident and a retired Mobil oil worker who also lived in Maricopa for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, Emma, and on son, Earl. He also had three step children, Mrs. Hazel Holland of Taft, Clarence Bamping of Canada and Clayton Bamping of Fresno; and a half-brother, Jess Matthews of Martinez. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of Dorie Lodge No. 26, F&AM, and a life member of the Gila Chapter 112, Royal Arch Masons, of Miami, Ariz. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction of Tucson Consistory. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock in the chapel of the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home with Walter Wall, master of Midway Lodge conducting the Masonic service. The Rev. Lauren Hedeen will also officiate, followed by interment in the West Side District Cemetery.
