Former Taftian Joe Milton Winton, 56, of Exeter died yesterday in that city. Winton was born June 25, 1906, at Oakland, Missouri, and attended schools at Goodman and Joplin, Mo. He moved to Taft in 1938 and resided here for 19 years, then moved to McFarland in 1958 and to Exeter in October of this year. He is a member of the Methodist Church, F&A.M. Lodge No. 309, Harmony Shrine No. 19, Taft and Faith Chapter, O.E.S. No. 54, Taft where he was past worthy patron. Survivors include his widow, Daisy; a son, John Winton of Castle AFB, Merced; a daughter, Mrs. Jo Carol Sanborn of Santa Paula; Three brothers, Perey Winton of Goodman, Mo., tom of Van Nuysand Oren of Yakima, Washington; six sisters, Louise Winton of South San Gabriel, Mrs. Ruth Pogue of Beaumont, Mrs. Hattie Qualls, of Estacads, Ore., Mrs. Mabel G. Attke of Alhambra and Mrs. Laura Howard of Monrovia; and one grandchild. Closed casket services will be held Friday at 2: p.m. in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home with officers of Temblor Lodge No. 477 officiating. Burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery. The Hadley Funeral Chapel of Exeter is in charge of the rites.
