James W. Zumbro, 413 Jackson Street, died yearly this morning in a local hospital. He moved to California from Tennesse, the state where he was born, August 10, 1875, and took up residence in 1942. He moved to Taft in 1946. Mr. Zumbro was retired and prior to moving to Taft worked for the Ford Motor Company in Richmond, California. Survivors include his widow, Mattie, of the above address, eight sons, Irving and Herman W. of Salinas, Harry V., Oklahoma City, H.D., Alturas, Johnny and Bill of Taft, D.W. Sacramento and Curtis D. of Little Rock, Arkansas. Three daughters surviving are Mr. J. G. Hester, Carlsbad, New Mexico; Mrs. Lucille Pendleton, Richmond, and Mrs. Dorothy Ritchey, Merced, Mr. Zumbro is also survived by 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and other relatives.
