Mr. James Francis Have, Sr., succumbed July 7 in his home at 408 North Ninth Street. He was born December 13, 1889 in Chicago, Ill. He had been a resident of the West Side for the past 40 years. At the time of his death, Mr. Haven was an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a Past Noble Grand of the Taft Odd Fellows, a Past District Deputy Grand Master and a member of the Taft Rebekah Lodge, 343, and the Taft Encampment 113 of which he was District Deputy Grand Patriarch. For 46 years he had been a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Mr. Haven was retired from Standard Oil Corporation. Survivors include his widow Sara B.; three sons, Roy, James and John of Taft; one daughter, Margaret Niebel of Taft; nine grandchildren; three brothers, John C. of Taft, Thomas of Chicago and Donald of Kobe, Japan and one sister, Miss Margaret Haven of Molokai, Hawaii. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 in the Chapel of the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home under the direction of Ernie Spencer and Ivor Cummins, both officers of the Taft IOOF. Interment will follow in the West Side District Cemetery.
