James E. McMillan, 83, died yesterday morning in his home at 600 Crystal Street. He was born Sept. 3, 1879, in Greenville, Tennessee, and has resided on the West Side for the past 59 years. He was a former employee of the General Petroleum Corporation and a member of the Taft Elks Lodge No. 1527. Survivors include his widow, Grace; and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Fisher of Long Beach and Mrs. Sally Jeffery of New Mexico. The Rosary will be recited in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home Wednesday at 8 p.m. with officers of the Taft Elks Lodge conducting the service, headed by Ed C. Walker, exalted ruler. Father John McKee of St. Mary’s Church will conduct the final rites Thursday at 2 p.m. at the West Side District Cemetery where McMillan will be buried.
