Funeral services for James Carl Cloud have been set for Friday afternoon at 2. Mr. Cloud was lost at sea near Morro Bay on Saturday, April 11 with his brother George while on a fishing excursion. Mr. Cloud was born May 4, 1927 in Los Angeles and had lived in Taft most of his life. He served his country during World War II as a US Marine radio operator, and was employed by the Standard Oil Company. Mr. Cloud is survived by his widow, Gloria Mae, two sons, James Carl, Jr., Joseph Malcolm, one daughter Cheryl Ann, one brother Jerry of Taft, and one sister, Helen of Taft. He is also survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Cloud of Valley Acres. Services will be held in the Erickson and Brown Chapel with the Reverend Hillis C. Culver of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the West Side District Cemetery.
