Funeral services for Horace Bishop Williams, 71, 118 Tyler, who died Friday in the West Side Hospital, were held today at the West Side District Cemetery. Williams, a native of Calahan County Texas was born on July 22, 1891, and had resided on the West Side for the past 16 years. He was a retired oil field worker formerly employed by Iraq Petroleum Corporation and worked in the Middle East. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Clyde Lodge No. 1066 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Taft and of the Abeline Chapter No. 159 R.A.M. of Abilene, Texas and of the Taft Command No. 65 of Knights Templar of California. Williams is survived by his widow, Ruth H. of Taft; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Shadik of El Granada; two sons, John Richard and Joseph A., both of Taft; two brothers, W. R. Williams and G.H. of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Ava Golightly of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren. The graveside rites were conducted by the Midway Lodge and Rev. Chester R. Lewis of the First Methodist Church.
