Fred W. Shaw, 45, of 218 1/2 Van Buren Street, died yesterday in a Los Angeles hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Shaw an employee of Chancellor Western Oil Development, was born Jan. 4, 1918,in Corning, Mo. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Nellie; two sons, Jerry and Terry; a daughter, Delores McCormick, all of Taft: a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Vancouver, Washington; two brothers, Ora of Rock Port, Mo., and James of White Bear, Minn.; and several grandchildren. Rev. Bill Brown of the Church of Christ will conduct the services which will be followed by burial in the West Side District Cemetery. Shaw had lived on the Wet Side for the past 16 years.
