Ernest “Mose” Erin Suhr, 59, of the Mt. Diablo Lease on 25 Hill, died yesterday afternoon in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1904 at Mendon, near Celina, Ohio. He was lease foreman of the Mt. Diablo Oil Company and had lived on the West Side for 37 years. Mr. Surh was a member of the Midway Masonic Lodge 426 and was known as the may of 25 Hill by friends and acquaintances. He was highly respected by those who knew him, and he was known to provide financial and other assistance to needy persons. Survivors are his widow, Amy of Taft, one daughter, Donna Mae Suhr of Stockton; five brothers, Edward, Robert, Lee and Joseph, all of Mendon, Ohio, and Paul of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Fern Hiems, Lela Coats and Hope Nevergall, all of Mendon. Funeral services for Mr. Suhr will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Slorpe of the Presbyterian Church and officers of Midway Masonic Lodge No. 426 will conduct the funeral.
