Mr. Emmett W. Perrigo, prominent West Side resident, passed away this morning in a local hospital. A Long time resident of Taft, Mr. Perrigo came to the West Side in 1918. He was an employee of the Pacific Oil Company prior to going into the furniture and hardware business. He owned the Perrigo’s Furniture and Hardware Store located on Asher Avenue in South Taft. At the time of his death he owned the Roquette Hotel at 414 Main Street and other real estate holdings. Mr. Perrigo was born in Shenandoah, IA., February 19, 1881. He is survived by his widow, Nellie, 155 North Street, three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Coburn and Mrs. Frances Eiland, both of Taft and Mrs. Ethel Cornelius of Coalinga; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Murray of St. Edwards, Nebraska; six grandchildren and other relatives.
