Emma Williams, long-time resident of the West Side, passed way in a local hospital this morning. She was the widow of the late John Williams and resided at 129 Kern Street. Mrs. Williams was born July 1, 1877, in Adams County, Ind., and came to Taft in 1918. She had lived here 38 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Taft. Survivors include five sons, Perry Glendening, Lewis Glendening,m and Roger Glendening, all of Taft; Lester Glendening of Barstow, and Francis Glendening of Bakersfield; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Bliss of Burbank; one brother, Albert Chrisman of Avenal; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services are set for Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Paul S. Ray of the Baptist Church officiating, Interment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
