E.G. (Tommy) Thompson, 63, of 129 Woodlawn Street, died this morning in a local hospital. He was born in Blairsville, Georgia, on December 1, 1899, and had resided on the West Side for the past 41 years. Thompson was a retired oil worker. Survivors include his widow, Thelma of Taft; one son, Charles of Bakersfield; a brother, Jewell Marvin Thompson of Murphy, North Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. L.F. Stiles and Mrs. W. L. Crealey, both of Taft and Mrs. C.L. Stalcup of Santa Maria; one grandchild and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. Rev. Emil J. Authelet of the First Baptist Church will officiate at the rites which will be followed by burial in the West Side District Cemetery.
