Mr. Edward Victor (Pop) Simmons died yesterday at his home, 23334 Derby Avenue in Derby Acres. He had lived there for six years and on the West Side for 29 years. He had been a resident of the state some 36 years. Mr. Simmons was a retired oil worker. He was born November 25, 1890 in Tombstone, Ariz. Survivors include his widow Caroline J. Simmons of Derby Acres, five sons, Charles E. of Derby Acres, Fred V. of Fellows, Frank E., Phil E. and Ben A. of Taft; 13 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jewel Holley of Van Nuys. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Erickson and Brown Chapel with the Reverend Joseph Bruner of the First Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
