Mr. Edward Oliver Deal, chief engineer of the Mobil Oil Corporation, died Wednesday morning while working at the Midway Pump Station north of Taft. Mr. Deal had resided in the Taft area 15 months and had been a resident of the State for 22 years. At the time of his death he was residing at the Taft Trailer Court. He was born May 20, 1904 at Huntley, Montana. Survivors include his widow, Gladys; a son, Richard L. of Lancaster; a step son, Howard E. Sutton, Sherman Oaks; two step daughters, Geraldine Porter, Compton and Marjorie Howard, Philadelphia; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ted of Caliente and Gerald of Shasta. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Florence Harrison of the Unity Temple in Bakersfield officiating. Interment will be in the West Side District Cemetery.
