Mr. Donald Eugene Silcox succumbed yesterday morning at his home 43-9 H Street in 11-C Camp. Mr. Silcox was born September 21, 1897 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. For the past 37 years, Mr. Silcox has resided in Taft. He was a supervising chemical engineer for Standard Oil. He was also a veteran of WWI, member Petroleum Production Pioneers, Alpha Chi Sigma at University of California and a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. Survivors include his wife, Keith Lee, three sons, William of Fullerton, John of Milbrae and Hugh of Berkeley where he is attending the University of California; two daughters, Keith Lee Derian of Long Beach and Mary Grace of Joste of Mount View; one sister, Grace Anderson of Portland, Ore., and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Taft. Reverend Hillis Culver will officiate. Interment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
