Funeral services for Clarence H. Long, 56, of 611 Polk Street, Taft, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the Erickson and Brown Mortuary , Rev. Willis Lambert of Stockton, former pastor of the Taft Nazerene Church, will officiate and interment will follow at the West Side District Cemetery. Long, a prominent Kern County oilman and a pioneer resident of the West Side, was fatally injured Monday morning in an automobile accident north of Bakersfield on the Porterville Highway. He was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Norwood, Mo., and had been a resident of the West Side 37 years. Long’s survivors include his widow, Bobbie; daughters, Mrs. Rose Mary Fanska and Mrs. Jo Ann Colston; parents, Joseph S. and Ruth Long; and a nephew, Thomas E. Bebout, all of Taft; step-sons, Jack Doremus of Bakersfield and Charles Doremus of Waco, Texas; brothers, Lloyd S. Long of Taft and Leon Long of Portland, Ore.; sisters, Mrs. Mabel Reznick of Phoenix, Ariz, and Mrs. Effie Fagan of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren and other relatives.
