Clarence Atwater Doolittle, 71, 804 Lincolsn St., died yesterday afternoon at a Bakersfield hospital. He was born in West Haven, Conn., July 9, 1892. Mr. Doolittle was a resident of the West Side for 45 years. He was a retired county employee and was a shop foreman under Stanley Abel and Andrew Noon, pioneer Kern County Supervisors. He was a past master of Maricopa Lodge 434, F&AM, a past worth patron of Maricopa Eastern Star No. 323, and a life member of the Kern County Employees’ Assn. Survivors include his wife, Maude H.; one son, Dwight of Bakersfield; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Cawelti of Taft and Mrs. Maryelyn Marcus of San Jose; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother Charles of Spirngfield, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Helen Perkins of Wallingford, Conn.; and other relatvies. Final rites will be held in the Maricopa Masonic Lodge tomorrow at 3 p.m. Officers of the lodge, led by George Mott, worshipful master, will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery.
