Charles E. (Trip) Triplett, 62, died Saturday evening at the West Side Hospital. A prominent civic and business leader, he had lived in Taft for 42 years and was the owner of the Midway Electric Company. He lived at 117 Loma Vista. Mr. Triplett had been in poor health for the past year. He was born on Oct. 28, 1899 at Santa Maria. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Erickson and Brown Chapel, under the direction of officers of the Taft Elks Lodge. Burial will be at the West Side Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Hazel, and his mother, Mrs. Lydia Triplett of Santa Maria. Mr. Triplett was a member of BPOE No. 1527, Midway Lodge No. 426 F&AM, the Petroleum Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Kern County Sheriff’s Posse, the West Side Trade Club and was a past member of Rotary.
