Mr. Ben Quarry, 308 Tyler Street, passed away in a Los Angeles hospital yesterday morning after a short illness. Mr. Quarry was born August 24, 1897, in Missouri. He resided on the West Side 18 years and had been employed by C.W.O.D. Oil Company at Fellows. He is survived by his widow, Lucy Quarry of the Taft address; by five daughters, Vera Bonham, Wilma Howarten and Mary Miller all of Taft, Velma Chriswell of Woodland and Velda Foy of Santa Maria; by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; by three brothers, William Quarry of Alicia, Ark., Burton Quarry of Hoxie, Ark., and Arthur Quarry of Strawberry, Ark.; and by three sisters, Mrs. Vida Dobbs of Strawberry, Ark., and Mrs. Annie Callahan and Mrs. Whitemire both of Rockford Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. Reverend A. A. Phillips of the Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in West Side District Cemetery.
