Arthur E. Johnson, 58, died yesterday following a stroke suffered while he was working as a machinist for the Bill Gill Welding and Bit Service. Mr. Johnson had been in California for 36 years and had spent most of that time on the West Side. He was born in Osage, Kans., on January 21, 1898. He leaves his widow, Zola Johnson, 915 Wood St.; two sons, Arthur Johnson of Fresno and Raymond Johnson of Taft; three grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Johnson of Burbank and Lenas Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Skibbe of Cleveland, Ohio. Services are set for tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. Arthur E. Schmitt of the Lutheran Church will officiate and interment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
