Anthony Lawrence Piernot, 62, of 502 B St., died at a local hospital this morning. He was born in Kriem, Austria on Jan. 9, 1902 while his parents were there on a vacation. He had been a resident of California and the West Side for 20 years. He was raised in Duryea, PA., and came here in 1944. He was a Standard Oil Company employee and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War I. Survivors include his widow, Alta Otto Piernot of Taft; two sons, Earl of Dover, N.J. and George of Mt. View, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Marcella Redding of Philadelphia, PA., Mrs. Helen Jenkins and Miss Mary Lou Otto, both of Berkeley; 10 grandchildren; and other relatives. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. at the Erickson and Brown Funeral Chapel. Mass will be said Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Father John McKee. Burial will be at West Side District Cemetery with the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home in charge. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to the cancer fund.
