Mr. Alva Newton Wolfe died Saturday evening in a hospital at Bakersfield. He was born in Ona, West Virginia on January 18, 1899. He had been a resident of the state of California 17 years. The family residence is at 200 Second Street in Buttonwillow. Survivors are his widow, Grace Dennison Wolfe of Buttonwillow, five sons, Robert Clarence Wolfe and Richard Ray Wolfe of Buttonwillow, Carlos Mark Wolfe, Donal Lee Wolfe and Lewis Edward Wolfe all of Taft; one brother, Ivan Ralph Wolfe of Bakersville, West Virginia, fifteen grandchildren and other relatives. Mr. Wolfe was a member of the United Brethren Church in Hunnington, West Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth B. Mayes of the Community Baptist Church of Buttonwillow will officiate.
