Alfred J. Allen of Maricopa died suddenly yesterday afternoon in Maricopa. Mr. Allen was born in Handsboro, Miss., March 22, 1893 and had resided in Maricopa, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Crabtree, 605 Tulare Street, for the past five years. He served in World War I as a sergeant in the Motor Transport Corps. He is survived by his widow, Sadie, of the above address; a son Gordon and stepson Alfren Brannon, both of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Inez Barrsotte of Fresno and Helen Low of Bakersfield; and the above mentioned Mrs. Crabtree; two brothers, Herbert of Petaluma and June of Gulfport, Miss.; five sisters, Bessie Hartsell, Ella Newborn, Viola Cox, Kate Mason and Matilda Alexander, all of whom reside in Gulfport. Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Friday morning at 10 0’clock with Mr. Claude Moore officiating. In terment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
